Top Ten: Lesley reported that 45 meets had been received and entered into the database. Discussions centred on record procedures- was it the swimmers or the Meet Management responsibility. Emphasis has always been on the swimmer if they are attempting to break a record to have three timers on their lane.
Marketing: The Board was looking at a partnership with the Heart & Stroke Foundation. There are 2 or 3 options to be run at the Club level, with no obligations. MSO would be mentioned on the H & S website,
Negotiations are in process in regards to the City of Toronto awards given out for athletic achievements.
The Board is looking at more of a partnership with Swim Ontario in regards to Adults swimming with Age Group Clubs in areas where there are no Masters Clubs.
Swim Ontario Liaison: Swim Ontario is continuing to promote the cradle to grave philosophy and would like to see Masters become more active in the lower age bracket (under 20). The Board has requested some clarifications to the insurance policy in effect pertaining to Masters.
Swim Ontario has advised the Board that the Hall of Fame is available to Masters and they feel that Masters should have some representation. The Board had discussed this at a number of meetings and felt that it went against our philosophy of fun and fitness.
MOTION: that the Board revisit participating in the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame. John Grootveld, seconded by Judie Oliver.
