PRESIDENT: Heather Davies
Resignation
Patti McVetty has resigned from her position as secretary effective immediately due to other obligations.
National Registration Card
MSO will prepare a proposal for MSC regarding MSO doing the national registration cards. Heather, Darlene and Bruce will work on the proposal.
Internet
David Tree has changed the title of the MSC's page to Canadian Masters Swimming Page and disconnected all the provinces' pages until each
province contacts him with approval for reconnection.

Because of time constraints in getting all provinces agreeing on guidelines, Ontario will investigate creating its own web page with a potential link to MSC's page. MSO's president will communicate with David Tree to clarify interim plans.

Medals
All the open water swims received medals except 1000 island masters which still needs medals. Medals cost $2.78 each including tax.
Insurance
Chris will get quotes from other companies for mso's insurance, in an attempt to lower insurance costs.
TREASURER: Darlene Brown
Darlene will make a payment for insurance to Swim Ontario
SECRETARY: Patti McVetty - absent
Patti has completed the History Project. The listing of all board members from 1976 to the present was distributed.
MEET CO-ORDINATOR: Cheryl Blay
Meets for the 96/97 Season
National Capital All Sports (Technosport Swim and Triathlon Club) have five meets plus an open water swim. Alderwood Teddy Bares has two meets sanctioned. Nepean's meet is planned for February and London Silver Dolphins is planned for February. North York's Pentathlon meet is Sunday, December 8.
1997 Provincials
Cheryl is still accepting bids for the Provincials. East York Hurricanes are still investigating holding a provincial meet.
1997 Nationals
The 1997 Nationals will be in Montreal from Thursday June 26 to Monday June 30. It will be a short course meet.
Sudbury Island Swim
The Olympic Gold Masters from Laurentian University help the City of Sudbury with the Sudbury Island Swim. There are two distances of 1.6 and 3.2 kilometers. This season it is being held on July 9, 1997. OGM wants to have it sanctioned as an MSO open water swim but it is not restricted to masters swimmers. The board will check with MSO's insurer to see if the insurance policy would cover this event before the sanction request is approved.
EOMAC's Report on their Invitational Swim Meet in February
EOMAC President Ian MacDonald's report had concerns that there were too many meets in February. The meet schedule fills up early in the season - any club hosting a meet should check the schedule and plan accordingly.

CLUB LIAISON: Barrie Malloch
The questionnaire will be due October 15. The questions ‘Do you have e-mail access?’ and ‘Do you have internet access?’ will be added to both the club and swimmer questionnaire.
MSC REPRESENTATIVE: Geoff Camp
MSC's AGM
The MSC Annual General Meeting will be held November 9, 10 and 11 at the SNC building in Ottawa.
MSC News
Beth Whittall has been appointed the lead co-editor of the MSC News. The deadline: for the fall edition is September 30, 1996.
FINA Rep
Bruce Rogers was re-appointed as the FINA technical representative. He plans to attend the MSC AGM representing FINA.
MSI
MSI held a meeting at the Worlds in Sheffield. The two co-presidents are from Canada and South Africa.
Results from Nationals in Winnipeg: Michael Stroud
Incomplete records were listed for some provinces. Results for National Championships should not list provincial records.
REGISTRAR: Bruce Fairbrother
Registration figures for the 95/96 season are 81 clubs, 1979 club swimmers, and 26 unattached swimmers for a total of 2005 registered swimmers.
RECORDS: Michael Stroud
FINA records will be published in November.
Web Page
Michael will experiment with setting up a web page and abide by MSC's policy draft concerning guidelines for the internet. The cost would be approximately $50 per month.
Work in Progress
Michael is evaluating several meet management software packages. The Meet Management Guide has been typed into the computer. Revisions are being made to the sanction request form to include reference to the referee and the meet report form. Examining the SNC, MSC, and FINA rules. Relay draft and the info sheet about masters for the North York meet.
