REPORTS

PRESIDENT: Heather Davies
Patti McVetty's Resignation
Patti McVetty resigned from her position of secretary and the board thanks Patti for the great job she has done especially her work on the history project.
MSC's Web Site
David Tree has officially resigned as master of MSC's web site. He may continue to have FINA information available at his site.
MSO's Web Site
Michael is researching service providers and will be setting up a web site and e-mail address for MSO. The board expressed concern on how to maintain control of information put on the web site. Michael will check with the service provider to see what procedures the board should implement to maintain control of the site. Michael has prepared the MSO Web Site Guidelines based on MSC's Guidelines written by MSC's Internet Committee.
Hall of Fame
The board has concerns about the criteria for admittance to the Masters Swimming Hall of Fame, how would the selection committee work and how would MSO be involved. Harry Class will be invited to attend a board meeting to discuss the Masters Swimming Hall of Fame.

TREASURER: Darlene Brown
Medals were picked up from Welland by courier. The charges will be split between MSO and Welland Y Masters. Darlene will send a cheque for MSC's fees with Geoff to MSC's AGM.
MEET CO-ORDINATOR: Cheryl Blay
Variety Village Invitational is sanctioned for November 15 and 16.
Provincial Championship Status
Georgian Bay Masters is requesting Provincial Champion status for its open water swim in August 1997 for any of its events, either the 1 or 3 K. distance.
Motion: Pat Niblett / Barrie Malloch
Georgian Bay Masters be granted the 1 and 3 K Provincial Championships for the 1996/1997 swim season.

Guidelines
Michael submitted the following guidelines, forms and procedures which were reviewed by the board.
MSO Guidelines for Referees
MSO Guidelines for Meet Managers
MSO Guidelines for Meet Information Package
MSO Safety Procedures
MSO Meet Report Form
These will be printed double-sided and will go out with the meet sanction request form. They will also be available on the web site.
World Records
Ontario Masters Swimmers who set world records are having problems having their records accepted by FINA because the pool confirmation was not sent with the record application and records were not submitted by the FINA deadline. Pools with moving bulkheads must be measured for every meet and a FINA pool confirmation form completed. MSO will proceed with the appeal process with Walter Reid (FINA Records) and find a process that works.
MSC: Geoff Camp
MSC's AGM Geoff presented the agenda for the MSC AGM November 9-11 in Ottawa. In particular the president of MSI, Gordon Knowles of Quebec was asked to present the current MSI situation.
