MSCS AGM
MSC's AGM was held  in Ottawa on September 26/27. A draft of the minutes is on MSC's web site. It was a productive meeting. Alberta and Newfoundland were absent.
Alberta's AGM
Alberta's AGM was held in Calgary. Alberta was proposing a motion to secede from MSC. The SNC representative told them that if they withdraw from MSC they will not be allowed to swim outside of Alberta. The motion was never tabled. Art Looye resigned from Alberta board. Areas where Alberta disagrees with MSC, half are where Ontario also disagrees.
Age Determination Date
MSC asked Geoff to take it back to MSO. USMS is now using both age determination dates. Short Course Yards is last day of meet and Short Course Metres are determined at end of year.
Nationals
Entry forms are included in the MSC News. All day grazing - $16.00 a day. There may be changes. Entry deadline is somewhat confusing. The intent was to guarantee a certain number of entries for out-of-province swimmers but this may be changed. The Nationals web site is www.nmsc.org. Clubs are advised to get their entries in early due to the limit on the number of entries accepted.
National Registration
A motion for National registration was discussed but Ontario voted against it.
Committee Report - changing rules writing MSC
Personnel Changes
Beth Whittall resigned as editor of the MSC News and Jackie Spry resigned as MSC's secretary and web master.
Beth Whittall was selected as the new MSC secretary. The News editor is now Christiane Fournier Kramer from Quebec and the Web Master is David Ellis from Alberta.

Wellness Day
Grant is setting up a wellness day planned for the early spring and will be proposed at the AGM.

Nov 10 - Nutrition Seminar
Brantford meet report

New Meets
Nepean's Winterlude meet has an entry deadline of  Jan. 29, 1999.
London Silver Dolphins will hold their Nesbitt Burns long course meet on Feb. 14.
Technosport and Rideau Speedeaus will host meets on Feb. 20 in Ottawa.
Milton Masters and 1000 Island Y Masters will host meets on March 7, 1999.
Georgian Bay Masters will host their open water swim on Aug. 8.
Open Water Swim - National Championship
MSC decided that a national championship open water swim could be held.
Please request approval for a national championship OWS. through Cheryl Blay.
Ontario Provincials
A couple of clubs have been working on hosting the Provincials but dates conflict with the Nationals being held in Ottawa.
It is the responsibility of member clubs to host the Provincials and not the MSO board.
There is a problem finding clubs to host the provincials. MSO should look into forming a sub-committee to coordinate the provincial championship.
