NEW BUSINESS
Legal action against MSO
On Wed Jan 6,1999 MSO was served legal documents pertaining to a statement of claim from Laurie Barlow Cash and Robert Barlow Cash naming another registered MSO swimmer, the city of Hamilton, and MSO as defendants.Darlene reviewed the letters with the Board and indicated that the entire matter is referred to Swim Ontario and  our insurance company.
Handbook
Darlene will wait till she determines if legal costs are expected before committing the $4,000 budgeted for publication of the 99 handbook.Other factors include the revised date of Fitness Day, receipt of Ian Christie's material, and the preference of including both the editorial and the handbook in the same mailing.
Provincials: A basis for discussion
Charlie presented information from Quebec, B.C., and Alberta re their different structures in place for the running of annual championships. Many of the same issues currently facing Ontario have already been evident elsewhere to varying degrees.
Charlie will continue to gather information during the year , potentially leading to a new approach to Provincials here in Ontario.
Bruce's time tabled.
Insurance for underage Masters swimmers
Darlene will contact Swim Ontario for information.
Swim Ontario insurance
Darlene will enquire re Charlie's questions about coverage for unregistered visitors & prospective members, also re proof of coverage required for out-of-province swimmers at workouts & meets.
Roy Smith: marketing of pins
Sharon will check with Bruce re the publication of Roy's order form so that ordering may begin.

NEXT MEETING
