Meeting was called to order at 11:25 AM.

Ralph asked for approval of the agenda as presented.

MOTION: Moved by Charlie Lane, seconded by Claus Koch.

CARRIED

Minutes from the last meeting were review and amended.

MOTION: to accept the minutes of the last meeting as amended.

Moved by Charlie Lane, seconded by Mary Brinklow.

CARRIED

Changes to the Board:

Ralph welcomed Nicole MacDonald from 1000 Island Masters as the newest member on the Board. She was introduced to all.

Ralph read a letter of resignation from Pat Niblett effective March 25, 2001

MOTION: That the Board accept the resignation notice of Pat Niblett.

Moved by Mary Brinklow, seconded by Claus Koch.

CARRIED

MOTION: to have Geoff Camp fill the vacancy on the MSO Board.

Moved by Charlie Lane, seconded by Nicole MacDonald.

CARRIED

Geoff Camp accepted.

MOTION: that Geoff Camp be the MSO Representative on the MSC Board.

Moved by Claus Koch, seconded by Mary Brinklow.

CARRIED

Geoff accepted

Notification will be required to be sent to Beth Whittall, MSC Executive Secretary, advising her of the change.

Reports:

STRATEGIC PLANNING: Ralph was waiting for all Committee Chairs to send him their expectations for the year and since only one person responded he could not complete his Presidents Report for the individual mailing.

CONSTITUTION: Mary was trying to come up with the correct wording for an inclusion clause. It was finally narrowed down to the following

"Individual members shall enjoy the same rights as those set out by the Canadian Human Charter of Rights and Freedoms ."

A notice of motion will be required and passed in order to have this included in the new handbook.

FINANCE: No report from Darlene.

INSURANCE: With input from the Committee and many revisions, the club letter is now drafted and will be sent to all clubs once the questionnaire, to be included, is completed

MARKETING: Since Ann was absent with regrets it was decided to defer the Hall of Fame to a further meeting for discussion..

MEMBERSHIP LIAISON: Ralph will be in contact with each area representative.

REGISTRAR REPORT: Brian reported the numbers are as follows:

Clubs Registered 91

Club Swimmers 2528

Unattached Swimmers 31

Mail Memberships 11 (included in club swimmers)

New clubs that have joined are: Bathurst Jewish Community Centre(BJCC)

Ingersoll Swimming Shark Masters (ISSM)

Uxbridge Masters (UXB)

Huron Hurricanes Aquatic Club (HHAC) Goderich

Six registered clubs do not have any registered swimmers.

At least 7 clubs are Age Group Affiliated.

WEBSITE: Barrie reports that all records she has received are on the web and up to date. Modifications and information are constantly changing.  Adobe acrobat has been purchased and printable PDF forms and records now on the web.

MSC: Geoff and Pat shared reporting responsibilities for MSC.

1. There is a Draft for Policies and Procedures in process.

2. April 9th MSC teleconference- Geoff will take over for Pat.

3. MSC meeting- day before Nationals begin in Calgary.

4. Open Meeting for all interested parties in Calgary.

FITNESS: No report from Grant.

MEET CO-ORDINATOR: Charlie reports upcoming meets:

Apr 9th Etobicoke time trials

June 24 Guelph PLANNED

Georgian Bay CANCELLED

Provincials: 584 entries, 375 relays. All set to go. Timers still needed.

RULES & OFFICIALS: Pat has nothing to report at this time.

STATISTICIAN & RECORDS: Still having a problem with clubs forwarding results to

Webmaster without going to Pat/Lesley first.

COMMUNICATION; Claus is accepting changes to the handbook. It was decided to go to an indexing system for easier access to information. Nicole will help Claus come up with the best way of handling this.   Pages 22-48 will be reviewed by Ralph and Pat.   All input regarding changes should be sent to Claus Koch at "claus.koch@sympatico.ca".

The Board would like to express its sincere appreciation to Pat Niblett for all her assistance, persistence and dedication regarding Rules, Officials, Records as well as being the Ontario Rep for MSC.

We know we won’t be getting rid of her that easily- and certainly don’t want to!!! It’s in her blood!!!.

Next Meeting: May 6th at Lesley Mason-Ward's home in Prescott.
