2025-2026 Season Update
On November 26th MSO hosted the first Connecting Coaches session with an encouraging 20+ attendees. The feedback will help plan topics for future sessions.
December 7th – The Red v Blue meet will run this coming Sunday. It has become a very popular meet with entries surpassing both the original and revised maximums.
January 25th 2026 – Next up is the 4th Ted Roach Memoria SCY meet in Alderwood. This meet has been running for 49 years and attracts swimmers from both sides of the Canada-USA border.
February 1st, 2026 – Save the date for a return of the Swim-posium at the Nepean Sportsplex. More details to follow as plans take shape.
February 14th, 2026 – is the 2026 Winterlude LCM meet is on Valentines Day and has been nicknamed “For the Love of Swimming”! Winterlude first ran in 1986 and it has become an Ottawa area tradition.
The MEGAmetre Tracker is being used by many swimmers. It could use some inter-club rivalry to encourage more participation. The rankings are available from the top ribbon on the MSO website. The caps are waiting to be earned and mailed. Remember that tracking workouts can help identify the development and progression of swimming injuries.
2nd Notice of the 2024-2025 MSO AGM / Call for Nominations
The MSO AGM will be held by ZOOM video link on January 6, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.
MSO is issuing a second Call for New Nominations to fill vacant director positions. An early call for Nominations was sent on November 22, 2025.
Registered swimmers are welcome to attend the AGM. However, only delegates from affiliated clubs with 2 registered swimmers may vote on the AGM matters presented.
All attendees and voting delegates must preregister for the meeting using the Google Pre-registration Form found at https://forms.gle/HvTo2aKQG1Fy9Mw49.
A ZOOM link will be sent only to registered attendees on January 4, 2026, i.e., 2 days prior to the meeting.
All AGM documents, timelines and updated voting procedures will be sent out and posted on the AGM page of the MSO website by December 23, 2025.
