NOTE: The December 31st Age up Rule was voted in by FINA at the 1994 World Championships. It went into effect in 1996. Prior to this, swimmers would age up on their birthdate.
USMS applies the December 31st Age up rule to SCM and LCM meets. It applies the Birthdate Age up rule for SCY meets.
MSO applies the Dec 31st Age up rule to all swim meets.

August 11 to 13 1st USMS Summer Nationals (LCM), Bloomington, IN – Hud Stewart’s results highlighted
1971
Canadian Masters Swimming began in Amarillo, Texas in 1971 when Hud Stewart and Al Waites from Ontario entered the second annual U.S. Short Course Championship along with 135 American swimmers. Upon his return, Hud formed the first official Canadian Masters swim club, the U of T Masters.
